Links or text
Cleaned links are highlighted in green. Removed: tracking affiliateLinks are cleaned in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or visited.

How to remove tracking from a URL

Paste a link into the left box and the clean version appears on the right instantly. You can also paste a whole list, or an entire email, chat or document. Every link inside it is cleaned and the rest of your text is left untouched. Copy everything at once, or copy just the links. The What was removed tab shows each tracker that was stripped from each link.

What gets removed

  • Campaign tags like utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign
  • Ad click IDs from Google (gclid, gbraid), Facebook (fbclid), Microsoft (msclkid), TikTok, LinkedIn, X and others
  • Email marketing tags from Mailchimp, HubSpot, Marketo and Klaviyo
  • Share trackers like YouTube and Spotify's si, Instagram's igsh and X's s and t
  • Affiliate and referral tags, including Amazon's tag=, if you leave that option on
  • Text highlight links (#:~:text=) that Google and Chrome add to jump to a quote

Parameters a page actually needs, like a YouTube video ID, a timestamp or a product option, are kept.

Smart cleanup for shopping and social links

Some sites need more than parameter removal. Amazon product links are cut down to the short amazon.com/dp/ form, which works in every country store's format. eBay item links become ebay.com/itm/ plus the item number. Etsy, AliExpress and Walmart product links lose their search and click tracking. YouTube links keep only the video, playlist and timestamp.

Unwrapping redirect links

Links copied from Google search results, Outlook emails, Facebook, LinkedIn and corporate email filters often aren't the real address at all. They point to a redirect that logs your click first. Turn on Unwrap redirect links and the tool pulls out the real destination for Google, Outlook Safe Links, Proofpoint URL Defense, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Slack and Steam links. Short links like t.co and bit.ly can't be expanded without visiting them, so they're left as they are.

Frequently asked questions

Will the cleaned link still work?

Yes. Tracking parameters are only read by analytics and ad systems, not by the page itself. If a site ever needs a parameter that was removed, turn off Remove all parameters and Smart site cleanup, which are the two most aggressive options.

Does this visit my links?

No. Links are cleaned by reading the address itself, entirely in your browser. Nothing is opened, fetched or sent anywhere.

Should I remove affiliate tags?

Removing them means the person who shared the link doesn't earn a commission. It doesn't change the price you pay. Turn off Remove affiliate tags if you want to support the creator who shared it.

Can I clean links in a whole document?

Yes. Paste the full text or open a TXT, CSV, HTML or Markdown file. Only the links change, and everything else stays exactly as it was.
