Generated entirely in your browser No data sent to any server No account required Unlimited QR codes, always free

Generate QR codes in seconds for any use case — website URLs, WiFi networks, contact cards, emails, phone numbers, and more. Unlike most QR generators, Flipper File works entirely in your browser, so no data is ever sent to a server and no account is needed. Customize the size, error correction level, and colors, then download your QR code as a PNG for free.

How to Generate a QR Code

  1. Choose a type — Select URL, Text, WiFi, Email, Phone, SMS, or Contact from the type tabs at the top.
  2. Fill in your details — Enter the content you want to encode (a URL, phone number, WiFi password, etc.).
  3. Adjust options (optional) — Pick your QR code size, error correction level, and colors.
  4. Click "Generate QR Code" — Your QR code appears instantly in the preview panel on the right.
  5. Download or copy — Click "Download PNG" to save the image, or "Copy" to copy it directly to your clipboard.

Why Use Flipper File to Generate QR Codes?

  • Fully private, no server uploads — Your data never leaves your browser. Most QR generators send your content to their servers; ours doesn't.
  • Multiple QR types — Supports URLs, plain text, WiFi credentials, email links, phone numbers, SMS, and vCard contact cards.
  • Customizable design — Choose your QR code size (up to 1024×1024 px), error correction level, and foreground/background colors.
  • High error correction — Choose up to 30% error correction (Level H) so your QR code scans even if partially damaged or covered.
  • No watermarks, no limits — Generate as many QR codes as you need. No account, no subscription, no watermark stamped on your image.
  • Works offline — Once the page loads, the generator works even if your internet connection drops.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of QR codes can I generate?

Flipper File supports seven QR code types: URL (links to any website), plain text, WiFi network credentials, email (with optional pre-filled subject and body), phone numbers, SMS messages, and vCard contact cards. Each type formats the encoded data correctly so phones scan and act on it automatically.

Are my QR codes saved anywhere?

No. All QR code generation happens entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you enter — URLs, passwords, contact details, or messages — is transmitted to any server. Flipper File has no database of generated codes.

What is error correction and which level should I choose?

Error correction lets a QR code still scan even if part of it is damaged, dirty, or covered (e.g., by a logo). Level L covers 7% damage, M covers 15%, Q covers 25%, and H covers 30%. For standard uses (printed on paper, displayed on screen) Level M is fine. Use Level H if you plan to overlay a logo on the QR code.

What size should I use for printing?

For printing on materials like flyers, business cards, or signs, download at 512×512 px or 1024×1024 px. Print at 300 DPI for sharp results. For digital use (websites, email signatures, slides) 256×256 px is plenty.

How do I generate a WiFi QR code?

Click the WiFi tab, enter your network name (SSID), password, and security type (WPA/WPA2, WEP, or open), then click Generate. When someone scans the QR code with their phone, iOS and Android will prompt them to join the network automatically — no typing required.

Can I add a logo to my QR code?

The generator produces a clean QR code PNG. To add a logo, download the PNG and use an image editor (like Canva or Photoshop) to overlay your logo in the center. Use High (H) error correction so the code still scans with the logo in place.

What file format does it download?

QR codes download as PNG files, which work in virtually every application — Word docs, Canva, Google Slides, print shops, websites, and more.

Does the QR code expire?

QR codes generated here do not expire because they are "static" — the content is encoded directly in the pattern. As long as the destination (e.g., the URL you entered) remains active, the QR code works indefinitely.
